SPRING 2025 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

REGISTRATION OPENS FEB 5, 2025 AND CLOSES FEB 28, 2025

Teams will be capped at the first 15 players registered.  A second team will be created if the number of players warrants a second team.

Tentative Schedule (April 1-June 21)

Competitive Team Tryouts will occur in March.

• Times and locations TBD
• Some teams may drop to one practice per week once league starts
• Uniform Deposit will be returned at the end of the season when the uniform is returned in good condition
• ABA fee is a fee paid to Alberta Basketball that covers the cost of insurance.  All players must be registered with the ABA.
• Registrations after February 28, 2025 will be charged a $50.00 late fee.

DEVELOPMENTAL VS COMPETITIVE TEAMS

For age groups with enough players to form multiple teams, we are considering offering tryouts to create a competitive team.

During registration, you will have the option to choose between:

• Development Team Only - You will not participate in tryouts and will be placed on a balanced developmental team.
• Tryout for Competitive Team - You will have the opportunity to try out for the competitive team in March.

If there are not enough players interested in forming a competitive team, we will instead create two balanced developmental teams.

Team Breakdown:

• Developmental Team: Plays in the weekly league and participates in one local tournament.
• Competitive Team: Travels to four tournaments and plays exhibition games.

Players who make the competitive team will have an additional cost of $150 to cover the extra tournament and exhibition game expenses.

Team selection will be overseen by the coach liaison and the coach liaison will work with the coaches to determine the players selected to the competitive team.

• League Fees
• Tournament Fees
• Rapids T-shirt
• General Club Expenses

ARE THERE AN ADDITIONAL FEES?

• Required: All players will be required to have their own good quality basketball for practices.  The ball must be the correct size for your age group (U13,15 & U18 girls: size 6 or 28.5 | U18 boys:  Size 7 or 29.5).  They can be purchased through the club or on your own.
• Optional:  Team Wear (coming soon to our website)
• Additional Tournaments or exhibition games:  If your team decides to do more than the allotted number of tournaments additional fees will be charged to cover the cost of the extra tournaments or exhibition games.
• Travel, Meal and Accommodations:  Players/parents are responsible for their own travel, meals and accommodations when attending away games and tournaments.

TOO EXPENSIVE?

We don't like to hear that players are not playing because they cannot afford to play.  Contact us for financial assistance or setting up a payment plan.
